AEQDB™ / PERSONAL LISTENING

A disciplined way
to hear your preference.

Personal Listening is a listening protocol, not a measurement match. Use one familiar passage, record only repeatable impressions, then audition one restrained EQ proposal before deciding what stays.

Scope Your notes describe your playback, fit and preference today. They do not claim to measure your earphone or replace the measured workflow in Tuning desk.

YOUR EARPHONE

Then load the earphone you own.

Selecting a model loads its measured frequency response as context for your preference adjustment.

Loading measurement catalogueThe source line appears when the model’s measurement is available.

Connect a DAC when you are ready to preview. Audio files and HID data remain in this browser.

LISTENING PROTOCOL

One reference. One decision at a time.

Choose a familiar local track to begin a listening pass.

REFERENCE PASSAGE

Use music you know well.

Pick a local track and isolate a short passage with familiar bass, voice and detail. Keep the player and system volume unchanged while comparing.

No track selected
Set A and B around a 20–60 second passage.

Balanced starts from the earphone’s own measurement. Your listening notes can then make a smaller correction.

Personal Listening never changes EQ until you ask it to prepare a proposal.

04 / OBSERVATIONS

Describe the part that keeps repeating.

Choose one direction in each area. Repeatedly select the same cue for mild, clear, or strong. Opposing cues in a row replace each other.

The grey line is the selected model’s measurement, normalised at 1 kHz. The orange line predicts that same measurement after the actual EQ coefficients. It is not an in-ear measurement.

05 / REVIEW

No proposal prepared.

Complete a listening pass, then create one restrained starting point. You can revise every band before previewing.

10-BAND DSP CONSOLE

These values become the documented ten-band DSP coefficients. Peak is the recommended default for listening-led refinement; shelf and pass filters make broader changes.

READY TO AUDITION

Compare before you keep it.

Preview is temporary. Saving writes the EQ and selected digital filter to the connected DAC.
